Willpower is a strange concept - we all think we need iron willpower in order to lose fat, but in fact the successful among us manage to bypass willpower altogether. Willpower requires conscious effort and energy, and eating is something that we often do when we are not thinking about it, or when we are feeling low on energy, so if we rely on willpower, we set ourselves up to fail as soon as we lose focus and other things take over. If you bypass willpower, you can ensure that you make the right choices, even when you aren't really thinking about it.
