Nowadays we know the Ancient Greeks more from the staggering monuments they left behind, their advanced political system, and their colorful mythology. Even now, Hollywood and several fictionists are still fascinated about the history of Ancient Greece and their very dysfunctional family of gods. Movies are still being made about the exploits of their heroes, their literature and dramas still affect us in considerable ways, and we still admire their philosophers for their wit, innovations and their commitment to truth and understanding. But out of all the things we give Ancient Greece credit for, have we ever given them credit for their medical accomplishments and contributions?
