Compulsive skin picking of the cuticles is one of the many types of compulsive skin picking (CSP) disorders and has a variety of possible underlying causes. Most people with this condition are simply carrying out a habit - the cuticle is unique in that it is one of the few areas of the human body that can be easily manipulated or played with. In most cases, little or no damage is done.
